The Greater Houston Council of NARFE Chapters began
as an informal voluntary collaboration by NARFE Chapters in the Houston/ Southeast Texas area to make information about area Chapters more easily available to members and potential members of NARFE. For Chapters that are members of the Council the links in the table on the right side of this page will transfer you to a page with information about the selected Chapter, including the time, date, and location of Chapter meetings. Persons to contact are also provided for each non-participating Chapter. The Chapters have monthly business meetings, and some of the Chapters list their monthly programs, which they usually conduct after their business meeting. These programs may be either entertaining or informative in nature.  

The Greater Houston Council of Chapter's goal is to become a more formal organization with all Chapters in the metropolitan Houston Area joining in a cooperative effort to assist Chapters by formulating and sharing ideas for speakers,  programs, projects, fund raising, membership growth, and participation, as well as Chapter improvement in general.  Presidents and Vice Presidents of each Chapter are encouraged to have their Chapter join, and to participate as Chapter representatives in Quarterly meetings of the Greater Houston Council of Chapters.  For current news from the Council click the News button below:

Representing the Greater Houston Council of Chapters, Hazel Hicks, Dave Bloomer, and Hester Bain all members of Rosenberg Chapter 2030 attended the AARP Gulf Coast District Picnic on June 9th to present information on NARFE, hand out literature and recruit new members.
